By creating an account, starting a session, downloading a configuration, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Sentinel on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation.
1. Provider and contact
The service provider is the legal entity operating webservice.digital as identified in the Imprint. Contractual and legal notices may be sent via the Contact form or the address published in the Imprint.
2. Description of the service
Sentinel provides account-based secure-access services. Depending on your plan and eligibility, features may include:
- WireGuard VPN - personal tunnel profiles, session controls, and plan-based network assignment;
- Trusted Web Proxy (typically Premium and above) - browser access via Sentinel-owned egress using encrypted URL tokens;
- Public Web Proxy / experimental relays - optional browsing via third-party open proxies when enabled for your plan, with explicit residual risk;
- Customer portal functions such as dashboard session controls, referrals, billing, product changelog (where enabled), and support channels;
- Operator tooling for authorised staff only (administration, auditing, content management).
We may improve, reorganise, or discontinue non-essential features with reasonable notice where practicable. Core plan entitlements remain as described at purchase unless law or force majeure requires otherwise.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 16 years of age (or the higher age of digital consent in your country) and capable of entering a binding contract.
- You must provide accurate registration data and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- One natural person or organisation entity should not abuse multi-account schemes to evade limits, bans, or billing.
- Email verification and security controls (including captcha and, for elevated operators, MFA) may be required before full access.
- We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that present security, legal, or abuse risk.
4. Plans, sessions, and commercial terms
Public plan features and prices are summarised on the Pricing page and may be refined in the product guide. In particular:
- Guest / free access - time-limited VPN sessions for evaluation or occasional use; session length and concurrent use limits apply as configured;
- Premium (and higher where offered) - ongoing VPN access under an active paid subscription plus eligible Web Proxy features;
- Premium subscriptions are billed through our payment provider (Stripe). Taxes, currency, renewal, and cancellation follow the checkout flow and provider rules;
- Unless mandatory consumer law provides a longer right, digital services begin on first use after purchase; early delivery may affect withdrawal rights where applicable.
We may change prices or plan packaging for future periods with advance notice. Changes do not retroactively reduce already paid, unused subscription time except as required by law or our written commitment.
5. Acceptable use
You must use Sentinel lawfully and in a manner that does not harm the service, other users, or third parties. Prohibited conduct includes, without limitation:
- Illegal activity, fraud, money laundering facilitation, or content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction or ours;
- Network abuse: scanning, flooding, DDoS, malware distribution, open-relay spam, credential stuffing, or exploitation of vulnerabilities;
- Circumventing rate limits, authentication, VPN gates, billing, or security controls;
- Infringing intellectual property, privacy, or personality rights of others;
- Reselling, sublicensing, or sharing individual account credentials or WireGuard profiles as a multi-tenant product without our written consent;
- Using Public Web Proxy or experimental relays for secrets, banking, government systems, or any use requiring confidentiality guarantees.
We may throttle, suspend, or terminate access, and may preserve logs as needed for security and legal defence, when we reasonably believe these Terms or law are violated.
6. WireGuard VPN
VPN profiles are personal. You must protect private keys and configuration files. Session start/stop and plan limits are enforced server-side. We do not guarantee uninterrupted connectivity, specific throughput, or suitability for any particular destination or application. Exit routing, network ranges, and technical parameters may change for operational or security reasons.
7. Encrypted Web Proxy (Trusted mode)
Trusted mode fetches destinations via infrastructure under our operational control and uses time-limited encrypted tokens bound to your account. You remain responsible for the websites you visit and for any credentials you enter on destination sites. We apply technical safeguards (including SSRF protections and rate limits) but cannot control third-party sites.
8. Public Web Proxy (experimental third-party relays)
Important: When Public / experimental mode is enabled for your plan, traffic may be routed through third-party open proxies that we do not operate. Those relays can observe, modify, or log traffic. They are unsuitable for passwords, confidential business data, or authenticated access to sensitive systems.
Use of Public Web Proxy constitutes acceptance of that residual risk. Prefer WireGuard VPN and/or Trusted Web Proxy for professional or confidential use. We may disable public relays or individual endpoints without notice if they become abusive, unavailable, or unsafe.
9. Referrals
Referral links are personal promotional tools. Referrers may see limited status of referred accounts (for example free vs Premium) but not payment card data. Abuse of referrals (self-referral farms, misleading promotion) may void rewards and lead to suspension. Public-facing invite pages may show a display name you choose; do not place personal data you wish to keep private in that field.
10. Intellectual property
The Sentinel name, branding, portal UI, documentation, and software are protected. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms, no licence is granted to copy, reverse engineer (beyond mandatory law), scrape, or rebrand the service. You retain rights to content you lawfully submit (for example forum posts or contact messages), and grant us a non-exclusive licence to host and process that content to operate the service.
11. Availability and support
We aim for reliable operation but do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free service. Maintenance, upstream network issues, third-party relays, force majeure, and security incidents may cause downtime. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis via the Contact form unless a separate written SLA applies.
12. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law:
- The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement beyond those that cannot be excluded;
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from use of the service, Public Web Proxy relays, or third-party sites;
- Our aggregate liability for claims arising out of these Terms in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in that period (or EUR 50 if you are on a free plan), except where liability cannot be limited (including intent, gross negligence, injury to life/body/health, or mandatory product liability).
Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory German or EU law.
13. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of third-party rights, except to the extent caused by our intentional or grossly negligent misconduct.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service and, where applicable, cancel a paid subscription according to the billing provider flow. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, legal risk, non-payment, or extended inactivity on free plans. Upon termination, VPN sessions and proxy tokens may be revoked. Sections that by nature should survive (liability, IP, indemnity, governing law) remain in effect.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. The “Last updated” timestamp on this page shows when the published content was last revised. Material changes will be indicated by that update and, where appropriate, notice in the portal or product changelog for logged-in customers. Continued use after the effective update constitutes acceptance, except where mandatory law requires explicit consent.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you also benefit from mandatory protections of your country of residence. Courts at our seat (as stated in the Imprint) have jurisdiction for disputes with businesses; consumers may sue in their place of residence where mandatory rules so provide.
17. Severability
If a provision of these Terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. The invalid provision is replaced by a valid one that best reflects the original commercial intent, to the extent permitted by law.
